What Is a Schengen Visa?
A Schengen Visa allows you to travel within the Schengen Area, which includes 27 European countries that have abolished border controls between them.
- Short-Stay Visa (Type C): For tourism, business, or family visits.
- Allows travel for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

Basic Requirements
- Valid passport (issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least 3 months after return).
- Completed visa application form
- Passport-sized photos
- Travel itinerary (flight + accommodation)
- Proof of travel insurance (minimum €30,000 coverage)
- Proof of financial means
- Visa fee
When to Apply
- Earliest: 6 months before your trip (9 months for seafarers)
- Latest: 15 calendar days before departure
- Recommended: Apply at least 3–4 weeks in advance
